This is a demonstration for blogging - it's a rainy day
and I'm so glad we went to Cape Lookout yesterday!!

Road Scholar at work

At a recent Road Scholar program in Carteret County, North Carolina, one student walks through the Old Burying Ground in Beaufort, NC, looking for the perfect subject matter. The history and natural beauty of this area make it a perfect location
for learning about digital photography.

Collage samples in Picasa

Good morning class, Here are some examples of collage work done in Picasa. Once you select the images they automatically appear on a page. You can enlarge, rotate and move them on the page, and add borders and a background color. I've had a lot of fun with them!

Collage Work in Picasa

Good morning class!
These are some examples of the collages I created
using the "collage" button in Picasa.
And they are now up on the blog
because of the "blog this" button in Picasa.
I have tried blogging before but could never get the photos and
text to appear where I wanted them on the page.
This seems much easier!

Collage I - Kaleidoscopes created using a $40 program called
Kaleidoscope Kreator 3

Collage II - from a trip to Massanutten, Virginia
last April. We stayed in a friend's time share
and visited this arboretum trail three times
while we were there. A lovely stream runs through
it and there were lots of plants in bloom!

Collage II - Our kitty cats through the years:
Clockwise from the top: Floyd on a keg at his
first birthday party, Calvin our one remaining cat
enjoying the back deck, April the crazy lady up
in a tree, Punkin on our spiral staircase, Howard
in a box of Christmas decorations, Monkey in a
wastebasket, and in the middle is my husband,
Jerry, with Calvin's brother, Bear - our biggest
cat ever though he weighed only 13 pounds.

Collage IV - A page we created for the people who purchased
Jerry's wall sconce "Elliott, You Are Cleared for Landing".
We wanted them to see how to take it apart so they could put
it back together. "Elliott" used to hang at Handscapes Gallery
in Beaufort (
